Beverly Hills to Host National Night Out

The city will participate in the national celebration on Tuesday.

Local preparations are underway for National Night Out in Beverly Hills.

Beverly Hills Mayor John Mirisch said it is important that the city celebrates the nationwide event.

"National Night is really a citywide block party,” Mirisch said. "It's an opportunity for residents to discuss safety issues with neighbors and first responders in a friendly setting, before there is a disaster and, therefore, helps prepare all of us for a real emergency."

There will also be storytelling and campfire songs, thanks to the Beverly Hills Library, as well as health screenings and safety information and information about how to prevent crimes.
