Banksy Mural Sells for $209K in Beverly Hills Auction
About 150 people attend auction at Julien's for British street artists' work.
The "Flower Girl" mural by mysterious British street artist Banksy sold for $209,000 at Julien's Auctions in Beverly Hills, reports the Los Angeles Times.
Flower Girl encompassed a 9-by-8 foot section of brick wall into one of Banksy’s signature murals. It drew crowds to the unassuming gas station in Hollywood where it was created and has since fueled the fire of the “street art” movement.
About 150 people attended the Dec. 5 live auction, which was also happening online. It also included five other Banksy works from between 2002 and 2006.
