2014 People's Choice Awards Nominees, Hosts Announced

More than 160 million voted in the nomination process, a record for the awards.

Channing Tatum, Hugh Jackman, Sandra Bullock and Scarlett Johansson were among the stars receiving multiple nominations Tuesday for the 40th annual People's Choice Awards.

The nominations were announced at 9 a.m. news conference at the Paley Center for Media in Beverly Hills.

"Despicable Me 2," "Fast & Furious 6," "Iron Man 3," "Monsters University" and "Star Trek Into Darkness" were nominated for Favorite Movie, while "Chicago Fire," "The Good Wife," "Grey's Anatomy," "Nashville" and "Parenthood" received nods for Favorite Network TV Drama.

The awards will be presented Jan. 8 at the Nokia Theatre at L.A. Live, with Beth Behrs and Kat Dennings, stars of the CBS sitcom "2 Broke Girls," hosting. Voting begins Tuesday and will end Dec. 5.

Robin Williams, who won his first People's Choice Award in 1979 for his role on "Mork and Mindy," received a nomination 25 years later in the same category, Favorite Actor in a New TV Series, for "The Crazy Ones."

"Glee" topped the list of TV nominees with eight nods, including Favorite Network TV Comedy, and four acting nominations for the show's cast. Katy Perry is the top music nominee with five nominations, while Bullock received five nominations to top the movie categories.

Melissa McCarthy was the only star to be nominated in both movie and television categories, earning nods for Favorite Comedic TV Actress and Favorite Comedic Movie Actress.

Fans can cast their votes on the website PeoplesChoice.com, or at Facebook.com/PeoplesChoice. Twitter voting is also available using specific hashtags, with details available at the People's Choice website. Mobile voting is also available with apps available for iPhone and iPad.
