Thought-provoking documentary "The Ghosts In Our Machine", directed by Liz Marshall, opens Nov 15 at Laemmle Music Hall

The Los Angeles premiere of Oscar contender The Ghosts In Our Machine begins November 15 until the 21, playing at 1:50pm/4:35pm/7:20pm at Laemmle Music Hall 3, 9036 Wilshire Blvd.

Award-winning filmmaker Liz Marshall directs through the heart and lens of acclaimed animal photographer Jo-Anne McArthur to depict a dramatic reality largely hidden from our view. Haunting and heart-warming, this visually arresting documentary shines a light on the animals that make our society possible but that we don't easily acknowledge.

The Ghosts in Our Machine had its world premiere at Hot Docs, where it got standing ovations, and was one of the top 10 audience favourites. The film has attracted attention from progressives and celebrities alike, with kudos from Woody Harrelson, Bill Maher, James Cromwell, Bob Barker and Kristin Bauer to name a few.

The film's Nov 15 opening night will begin with the 6.20pm red carpet with very special guests, and an introduction at 7:10pm before the 7:20pm screening. The screening will be followed by a post-screening Q&A moderated by author and activist Karen Dawn, with director Liz Marshall and photographer/subject Jo-Anne McArthur.

Following the Q&A, there will be an after party at Sage Organic Vegan Bistro in Culver City, from 10:00pm-2:00am. Entry with ticket stub as well as VIP access. Sage is LA's first vegan pizza and beer garden, and is a cruelty-free plant based restaurant, recently named Culver’s Best New Vegan Restaurant by The Huffington Post. Sage will be serving up a variety of speciality cocktails and delicious vegan eats in honor of the film.
