Gwynn Murrill's Avenue of The Stars Exhibition Extended Through January 2014

The twenty-two life-size bronze animals, by Los Angeles artist Gwynn Murrill, which have transformed the medians of Century City’s Avenue of the Stars over the past year, will remain between Santa Monica and Pico boulevards for an additional three months through January 2014.

The exhibition, which opened on November 15, 2012, is a powerful melding of art, landscape and architecture. Gwynn Murrill’s masterful sculptures catapult Century City beyond a business center surrounded by skyscrapers into a site for world-class art.

The overwhelming positive public response to the installation galvanized exhibition organizers: the Century City Chamber of Commerce Arts Council Sculpture Committee and the Century City Business Improvement District, to request the extension. Murrill’s bronze animals will now be on view through the holiday season.

Access to the artwork is available 24 hours a day. Viewing the mile-long collection of sculpture is most convenient by car. The artist and organizers, however, encourage visitors to walk along the sidewalk, to truly appreciate the sculpture and its relationship with the architecture of Century City.
