Los Angeles, June 18, 2012 – Morgan Stanley Smith Barney is pleased to partner with Project Sunshine to help bring relief to local Los Angeles children facing medical challenges and their families. For the second year in a row during the Firm’s annual Global Volunteer Month, Morgan Stanley Smith Barney employees across the country, including Los Angeles, will volunteer their services, joining a global army of over 10,000 Project Sunshine
children.
Morgan Stanley Smith Barney volunteers from Los Angeles
Complex will be participating in Project Sunshine’s “Sending Sunshine” volunteer program, assembling activity packages and creating Sunny Gram cards
to be used by young patients at local medical facilities during long hospital stays when volunteers and professionals cannot be present.
“Our employees here in the Los Angeles area are excited to partner once again with Project Sunshine to put a smile on the face of many young children with medical conditions,” said Los Angeles complex manager Gregory F Laetsch. “Global Volunteer Month is an important reminder to us all that thousands of
people, young and old, are in need of support and encouragement, and we are glad we can team up with Project Sunshine to make a positive impact on the
lives of local Los Angeles children in need.”
The packages contain education and fun activity items to
bring patients much needed relief from the anxiety and isolation of hospitalization. Assembled packages will then be distributed to patients at Children’s Hospital Los
Angeles.
