What's Up: Neighborhood Watch, Board of Education, Santa Monica Blvd Reconstruction Meeting

Here are five things to know in Beverly Hills today.

1. If you have holiday gifts to send off, let this reminder for the week be your guide for the shipping deadlines.

2. The Beverly Hills Police Department will present a Neighborhood Watch for teens, adults and seniors from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at First Bank, 9145 Wilshire Boulevard. The program is called "How to Avoid Being Scammed." Click here for more information.

3. The Beverly Hills Board of Education holds an organizational meeting at 5:30 p.m. in the Salter Family Theatre of Beverly Hills High School. Click here for more information and to view the district calendar for the week.

4. Don't forget the Friends of the Beverly Hills Library's 50 percent off holiday book sales ends Thursday. Click here for more information.

5. The Santa Monica Boulevard Reconstruction Project holds its second meeting at 6 p.m. in the municipal room of City Hall. The city will break ground on the project in the spring of 2015. It will involve repaving the road, upgrading the century-old drainage system and other much-needed street improvements along the entire stretch within Beverly Hills. Click here for more information.
