What's Up: Church of the Good Shepherd's 90th Anniversary

Here are five things to know in Beverly Hills today.

1. The Planning Commission meets at 1:30 p.m. at City Hall. Click here for more information.

2. The Beverly Hills Unified School District launched a centennial commemorative stamp design contest as the city prepares to celebrate its 100 years in early 2014. Click here for more information.

3. Beverly Hills' Church of the Good Shepherd will be celebrating its 90th Anniversary Thursday at 7:30 p.m. with an annual Mariachi Mass for the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe. The only Catholic church in Beverly Hills, this landmark church was the setting for the 1954 film “A Star Is Born” starring Judy Garland and holds a prominent place in the city's ties to the entertainment industry. 4. The Hawthorne Middle School's vocal music concert and Beverly Hills High School's winter strings concert are at 7 and 7:30 p.m., respectively. Click here for the BHUSD calendar.

5. The Beverly Hills Bar Association and Bar Foundation invite chamber of commerce members and guests to a festive holiday reception from 6 to 8 p.m. at Brooks Brothers. Click here for more information.
