Town Hall Meeting on Metro Takes Place Thursday

The public is welcome to attend the evening meeting, which is being held at the Beverly Hills Women's Club.

The Beverly Hills Municipal League and the Beverly Hills PTA Council is holding a town hall meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday to provide the public with the latest on the Metropolitan Transportation Authority's project.

Titled "An Update on Metro...where we are and where we are going," the meeting will take place at the Beverly Hills Women's Club, located at 1700 Chevy Chase Drive.

The Westside Subway Extension's Final Environmental Impact Statement/Report calls for tunneling under Beverly Hills High School, which  due to safety concerns.

The and have filed separate lawsuits against Metro claiming that the project violates the California Environmental Quality Act. The statute requires that state and local agencies identify significant environmental impacts potentially caused by their actions—and to avoid or mitigate those impacts.
